Price and free trials
The Marketplace only shows paid prices to signed-in Snowflake users. The
prices above were checked on October 31, 2026. By-request listings are priced
through the provider’s sales team.
Snowflake Curated Data (Paid) covers 90+ public data sources, and the SEC
Financial Analytics Kit is mainly a fundamentals product, so stock prices are
only part of what each price pays for. If daily stock, ETF and mutual fund
prices are what you need, Historical Stock Prices costs $1,200 a year.
Which listing fits which job
- Full US coverage, including mutual funds, kept current: Historical Stock Prices. Stocks, ETFs and mutual fund NAVs share one table and one schema. Adjusted open, high, low and close are restated whenever a split or dividend posts, so returns and backtests stay correct.
- Free data for prototyping, where a 3-month delay is fine: Snowflake Curated Data (Free). It’s a good way to explore a schema or build a proof of concept. Move to the paid tier, or another listing, before anything depends on recent prices.
- Academic research and survivorship-bias-free backtests: CRSP. It includes delisted securities and goes back to 1925, which no other listing here does. It’s licensed by request and refreshed monthly, so it suits research more than daily pipelines.
- Global coverage: Bloomberg’s point-in-time dataset covers 100,000+ companies worldwide. It’s by request, so expect an enterprise sales process.
- Prices next to fundamentals: the SEC Financial Analytics Kit pairs a year of prices with 10-K and 10-Q metrics. That’s useful when the question is about fundamentals, less so for long price history.
- Intraday trades and quotes: none of the listings above are intraday. Look at NYSE Daily TAQ or BMLL’s Level 1 and Level 2 quotes instead.
Snowflake Curated Data’s prices aren’t the official close
Snowflake Curated Data is the listing most people find first, because it’s free and made by Snowflake. Before you use it, know how its prices are defined. Its documentation says the data comes from Nasdaq TotalView through Databento and covers all trading sessions:- Open is the pre-market open, not the 9:30 AM opening price.
- Close is the after-hours close, not the 4:00 PM official close.
- Volume counts only trades executed on Nasdaq, not consolidated volume across all exchanges.

What to check before you subscribe
- Coverage. Check whether you need ETFs, mutual funds, small caps or non-US listings, not just large-cap stocks.
- History. Check how far back each security goes, and whether history starts at a fixed year or at each security’s listing date.
- Price definitions. Check whether open and close are regular-hours prices, and whether adjusted prices are included and restated when corporate actions post. See Adjusted Close vs. Close for why this matters.
- Delisted securities. If you backtest over long periods, you need delisted names to avoid survivorship bias. Of the listings above, only CRSP says it includes them. Fruit Stand’s Historical Stock Prices covers securities currently listed.
- Freshness. Check when each day’s data lands, and whether the free tier is delayed.
- Terms. Check whether you can start instantly with a trial or need to request access and go through procurement.
